About the Region

The Lehigh Valley (aka “the Valley,” or “A-B-E”) is located in eastern Pennsylvania, 50 miles (96 km) north of Philadelphia and 70 miles (144 km) west of New York City. It is comprised of four key areas: Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton and Nazareth. With a population of over 800,000, the Lehigh Valley is the third-most populous region in Pennsylvania – and is the fastest growing due to its popularity as a bedroom community for both New York and Philadelphia.

With recent success in attracting big business to the region, the Lehigh Valley has earned praise for building a bustling, business-friendly environment. The cities and towns of the Lehigh Valley have also done a masterful job reinventing former commercial and industrial spaces as fun, outdoors-oriented spaces, as well as urban communities housing extensive cultural, retail and artistic venues.  Combined with a flourishing restaurant scene and nightlife, it’s no wonder the Lehigh Valley is Pennsylvania’s fastest growing region with a high quality of life.
